On June 13, Business & Beer returned to 1321 Downtown Taproom Bistro, a gastropub located in old Torrance. It was another smaller than expected/desired turnout, but there is a lot of things going on this time of year with graduations and some people traveling. Even though there were just a few of us, we had a good time and enjoyed conversing along with the food and craft beers. Thanks you to the staff of “The Taproom” for hosting our event.
Thursday June 20 we will bring Business & Beer back to Sophie’s Place, a gastropub located in the Riviera Village portion of Redondo Beach at 1708 S. Catalina. They have 8 craft beers on tap and about 50 available in cans or bottles. On top of that they have a very good food menu. We usually have a pretty nice turnout at Sophie’s and since this will be the last official Business & Beer there due to our change in formats please consider stopping by if for no other reason than to thank them for their support.
Since we are changing our format beginning in July, if you are not on our mailing list or following us on Facebook you should do one or the other as there will soon be no more weekly reminders; they will be monthly. Continue reading
Please join us for Business & Beer a small business networking event which will be held at The Brewery at Abigaile on August 8, 2013 at 6 PM. The Brewery at Abigaile is located at 1301 Manhattan Avenue, Hermosa Beach, California. Please RSVP by commenting below that you will be there.
Last week Business & Beer returned to El Segundo’s source for the finest, freshest ales in the city, El Segundo Brewing Company (ESBC). Since most of our attendees live or work in the Torrance/Redondo Beach area, El Segundo is the northernmost microbrewery that we currently visit. Even though we had to compete with travel, graduations, illness and the LA Kings game, we had a pretty decent turnout. One consistent thing about our visits to ESBC is that we inevitably are approached by other visitors that want to learn more about what we are all about; this held true last week as well. As usual, El Segundo Brewing provided discounts to Business & Beer attendees, so if you need an excuse to join us there, now you have one. Thank you to Travis and Brett for the great service.
This week we will be returning to 1321 Downtown Taproom Bistro, a gastropub located in downtown Torrance. There is plenty of free parking on the streets and the parking structure on the other side of Sartori. If you have not visited the 1321 Taproom lately, they have changed a lot, from their food menu to their craft beer offerings. They have changed a lot over the past year or two; bring your business cards and make it a tax write-off. We start at 6:00 PM and they are located at 1321 Sartori in Torrance; we hope to see you there. Continue reading
Since I already reviewed last week’s non-gathering, I will just use this opportunity to remind you that this week we will be returning to El Segundo Brewing Company; located at 140 Main Street in El Segundo. If you have never been there, it is directly across the street from Rock & Brews. El Segundo Brewing has some of my favorite IPA’s and they make some great stouts as well; their Pale Ale is a pretty popular one as well. There is free parking kitty-corner to El Segundo Brewing and all street parking is free. Come on down, enjoy a fresh beer and network.
Speaking of networking, Business & Beer got a little free press in DaBelly.com; hopefully we will generate some additional interest. I hope with our planned change of going from weekly to once a month we will be able to bring back the larger groups we had in the past.
