We had a very nice turnout, with a total of seven of the attendees being present at the first event as well. To mark the occasion, co-founder Tanya prepared homemade calzones which went perfectly with Smog City’s beer; Phil and Debbie brought in a couple pizzas which ensured there was plenty to eat for everyone. All attendees won the free beer raffle, so everyone was a winner. Thank you to everyone that came out.
The August gathering of Business & Beer will be held August 11 at Rob Rubens Distilling & Brewing in El Segundo. Rob Rubens just opened a few weeks ago, but they are turning out some very nice beers with spirits coming very soon. Rubens is different than any other location we visit not only because of the still and beer varieties they brew, but the tasting room is reminiscent of a speakeasy; it is quite classy.
This will be the first visit to Rob Rubens for many of you so for a little enticement to come out, there will be discounted pours for all Business & Beer attendees throughout the course of the evening. There will not be a food truck, so feel free to bring your own food. Rob Rubens Distilling & Brewing is located at 909 E. El Segundo Boulevard in El Segundo. For those driving, there is parking behind the industrial park they are located in as well as in the street alongside the brewery (on Bungalow).
